Kruger Park Digital Photography Workshop

19th August 2014
This past weekend I hosted a group of South African Photographers at the Pierre Joubert Guesthouse at Pretoriuskop, the aim of the weekend was a digital photography workshop with a practical element of Wildlife photography. After meeting everyone and checking in we set off on our first drive, to drive in a open vehicle in the park was great, unfortunately the weather was cloudy and cool with a bit of rain but it did not dampen our spirits and over the 2 days we still got a few great images and the sun did make an appearance every now and again, we were lucky to see the sun during a very nice Lion sighting we had on our first morning drive. We also had a theory session on how digital cameras work and the relationship between ISO,Shutter speed and Aperture, we also went through Menu settings and what the ideal settings are for Wildlife photography. On game drive we did practical shooting and going through the best possible settings to capture good images based on the scene and the available light we had, we also did some photography using Manual mode. All the below images I photographed using Nikon D4 and D800 cameras as well as a 80-400 F4.5 - 5.6 lens and a 300 F2.8 lens with a 2 x converter. The workshop is aimed at novice photographers who want to learn more on how to use their digital cameras, for more Workshops please look here.
